Wine Tasting 101 – First Meeting

Probus’s new Introductory Wine Tasting Special Interest Group met for the first time at Nanoose Bay Cafe on March 11.  We tasted a Burrowing Owl 2021 Syrah.

We were led through the basic wine tasting steps:
– examine the colour
– swirl it in the glass
– identify aromas
– sip to identify the taste flavours
– enjoy the wine

We shared appetizers from the Happy Hour menu and noted how the wine changed with food and over our time there.

We will have our next meeting at Doug and Jeri’s at the end of April.
