Les Petites Wineaux October and November Tastings
Les Petit Wineaux met on October 9th at France and Tom’s house. This tasting featured Sauvignon Blanc, comparing “Old World” and “New World” wines. The two wines we tasted were “Le Vieux Pin Sauvignon Blanc” from Oliver, BC and “Sancerre Calcaire Francoise Le Saint” from Bordeaux. At this particular edition, we also tasted an extra wine – “Sauterne Chateau Coutet 2020 Barsac”, a lovely desert wine, also from Bordeaux. As always, we learned about wine while enjoying some delicious and innovative wine pairings prepared by the group.

The November 13th Tasting for Les Petits Wineaux was a success and a fun time was had by all. Two Pinot Noirs that were sampled, one from the Old World and one from the New. The French wine Manoir de Mercey Mercurey “Chateaubeau” was tasted alongside the New Zealand Marlborough Greywacke 2021. There were 11 attendees, with everyone contributing lovely appetizers that matched the wines. It is the custom of the club to share the recipes with the group afterwards.
Les Petites Wineaux are eagerly looking forward to kicking off 2025 with their next tasting in January. If there is another wine group that would like to form, Les Petits Wineaux are ready and willing to help mentor. Please let us know how we can help.
