The First Edition Book Club met for the first time in 2026 on February 17. We have all felt the loss of two of our valued members who passed away within 8 days of each other in January. On Feb. 17, we met for lunch and spent some time honouring these amazing women, Judith M. and Vivian T. We discussed Highway Tomson’s memoir, “Permanent Astonishment” and began to chat about “The Company”, a book covering the history of the Hudson’s Bay company. We look forward to finishing this fascinating account of Canadian history in March. We would love to have another woman or two join us.
