WeeDrammers Annual Heel Party

For the past few years, the Weedrammers have celebrated the end of another year of tastings by emptying out their cabinets of the nagging heels of great whiskeys sampled over the year. The ‘heels’ are casually defined as bottles with less than a couple of drams left, too much to drink by ourselves; too little to share. In brief, each member of the group brings a ‘heel’ to a gathering. The rule is simple – you can’t drink your own heel but all ‘heels’ must be gone by the end of the evening. All empty bottles go home with the owner leaving no mess for the host to clean up. As usual, the host provides appetizers complete with copious amounts of rich dark chocolate.
For this year’s gathering, a wrinkle was added to the mix; the Weedrammers ‘widows’ joined the party. Downstairs, sat the Weedrammers; upstairs the ‘widows’. In between a table covered in fabulous appetizers became a neutral zone. It was a gathering to be remembered!
Thanks to Dick and Marianne for hosting. Thanks to everyone for a table filled with marvellous appetizers.
2026 will be the 10th year for the WeeDrammers. We gather again beginning in February 2026. Coincidentally our first session will be hosted by Dick D. on February 25.
