New Member Introductions

Henry Geraedts and Eileen Utterson

Recently, my husband and I had a very pleasant visit with Henry Geraedts and his wife Eileen Utterson and Charlie, their 18 month old Welsh Springer Spaniel.  Henry and Eileen joined Probus during the dark and isolating days of the Covid 19 shutdown.
This didn’t exactly meet their needs of meeting people in their new community!  Luckily they had landed on Andover Road and met some very friendly and helpful new neighbours.  This move was quite a change from the last 16+ years in their off-grid home on Decourcey Island.

This delightful couple are  well-travelled and have lived in many different countries.  Henry has worn many different hats during his career, primarily in International Political Economy.  He has a long standing interest in the strategic aspects of energy and technology, and calls himself “a contrarian.”

Eileen originally hails from Scotland.  She is a phenomenal gardener, as evidenced from her delightful garden that she has transformed from bare earth to a lovely oasis.  It is said that “she could grow radishes in concrete!”  While living on Decourcey Island, she started the DIGS garden society.

Between the two of them, they have four children, who are scattered across the globe, and six grand- children.

Please take the opportunity to visit with this interesting couple.  I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed.
