The July 6th Horne Lakes Cave Tour turned out to be an interesting and informative afternoon. Our very capable guide, Chloe, led us on a one-kilometer hike up to the Riverbend Cave entrance, educating us on the geology of the area as we hiked. The one-hour tour inside the cave involved traversing past rocks, viewing various forms of calcite and experiencing total darkness, as we approached our final destination, the Smiling Buddha. Chloe stressed safe caving practices along the way and educated us on the important role that caves play in our environment.
