Guest Speaker:
Bob Popple, our guest speaker, was introduced by Jim Watson, who provided some background information of Bob’s life. Bob is an accomplished author, and his presentation titled “The Joy of Writing” maintained there is a book inside of each one of us, just waiting to be written down. From there he took us through the process of research, extensive note taking, many face to face interviews with his subject, more extensive note-taking, and the monumental task of organizing all those details long before the actual writing took place. Bob has always carried a large notebook for the exact purpose of jotting down ideas and factual information at any time.

His latest book “Cold War Warrior: Canadian MI-6 agent Lawrence Fox” is an excellent example of his talent of employing these methods to chronicle Fox’s life.

Jim Watson thanked him for his hints and tips of how to write our own family’s history as well.
