Protection Island and Dinghy Dock Pub

Monday afternoon, June 10th, the weather gods smiled down on our group of 11 as we boarded the foot ferry to Protection Island. Captain Jeremy expertly docked the boat at the Dingy Dock Restaurant where our trek began.

Guided by Bryan Beazley, map in hand, we circumnavigated the Island, detouring at each beach access.
We were surprised at the number of homes, most with water views. Travel there is by golf cart. The signs and lawn decor were creative and entertaining.

Most of the beaches are rocky but contain very interesting geological features.
The park area near the pub is very nice. At 3:15 we arrived back at the Pub. The service was excellent and the food very tasty.

Graham Farstad, our lone kayaker, met us there after paddling around Newcastle Island.  All in all a very enjoyable afternoon with some great people.
