Our book club “loved” our November choice, “Lady Tan’s Circle of Women” by Lisa See. This novel is based on the true story of a young woman in 15th century China who became a physician. Actually, a General Practitioner. The purpose of life for a well born woman was to provide a son for her husband and lead a very restricted life within his home even though he might be away for months at a time. The heroine, a feminist, bucks the system as much as she can.
