MOTO in March 2023

In early March we had an enjoyable lunch at Bayside to say goodbye to one of our members moving to North Vancouver. On the 8th some of us went for happy hour at Seascapes to celebrate Women’s Day with appies and of course wine, unaware then it was soon to close.

It turns out we are lucky to have some excellent cooks in our group. Last month we enjoyed Scottish fare, this month Ethel cooked up a South African storm.

We were treated to Biltong, Boerewors sausage and Wildebeest kneecaps (hmm don’t ask) and Ox Wagon wheels for Appies. The main course was Babotie served with GeelRys, squash and carrot mash with creamed spinach.  Dessert was Malva pudding and ice cream.

Ethel made everything from scratch and the meal was paired with South African wine.  Most of us had never heard of, let alone tasted the spicy dishes but they were all delicious!

A fabulous evening as per the photos.
New members on their own are welcome.
