January General Meeting via Zoom

On Friday January 15th 38 Probus members gathered by their ipads, laptops and desktops to hear a terrific presentation by Bill Thornton and Mike Annan, with the BC and Alberta Guide Dogs organization. Their website can be found here.

Bill talked about the Autism Service Dogs program, where trained dogs are matched with children affected by autism, to assist with safety, security and increased socialization opportunities.

Mike talked about the Vancouver Island Compassion Dogs program, which operates out of Qualicum Beach. This program assists people with operational stress injuries, such as Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD). They work primarily with Armed Forces veterans and First Responders.
